TRAVEL AGENCIES RULES, 1977

(Amendments)

S.R.O. 89 (KE)/2010, dated 30-4-2010.---In exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Travel Agencies Act, 1976 (XXX of 1976), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following further amendments shall be made in the Travel Agencies Rules, 1977 namely:--

In the aforesaid Rules,--for rule-6, the following shall be substituted namely:-

"(6) Fields of operation.---A license may be granted to an applicant for one or more of the following fields of operation, namely:--

(a) booking of passages and baggages by air, rail road or sea for citizens of Pakistan or tourists for any destination;

(b) organizing group tours for citizen of Pakistan to a foreign country or countries;

(c) organizing group tours of citizens of Pakistan or foreigners within Pakistan;

(d) organizing or arranging sight seeing, providing of arranging sports including shooting (Shikar) entertainment or arranging trekking or mountain climbing for tourists within Pakistan; and

(e) providing or arranging accommodation and transportation for tourists within Pakistan or outside Pakistan." and

(2) in rule-14 for sub-rule (1) the following shall be substituted.-

"(1) A licensee shall maintain in a scheduled bank a business guarantee fund in terms of section 7 of the following amount, namely:

*Note: A separate bank guarantee will not be required for this category if the travel agency has already provided guarantee for items (ii) and (iii) above"; and

(3)" Form III, for Part-A the following shall be substituted, namely:--

"A. ---Annual` fee for grant and renewal of licence.
