Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Registration (Amendment) Act, 2014

ACT

to amend the

Registration Act, 1908.

          Whereas it is expedient to amend the Registration Act, 1908 (Act No. XVI of 1908), for the purpose hereinafter appearing;

          It is hereby enacted as follows:

1.       Short title and commencement.---(1)  This Act may be called the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Registration (Amendment) Act, 2014.

          (2)      It shall come into force at once.

2.       Amendment of section 71 of the Act No. XVI of 1908.---In the Registration Act, 1908 (Act No. XVI of 1908), in section 71, after sub-section (1), the following new sub-section shall be inserted, namely:

          “(1A)  A Sub-Registrar shall refuse to register the documents, if the person does not hold valid title or rights in the immovable property on the day the rights alienation deed is presented for attestation.”.
