NO.PAS/Legis-B-01/2008- The Sindh Public Service Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2008 having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on 16th April, 2008 and assented to by the Governor of Sindh on 30th April, 2008 is hereby published as an Act of the Legislature of Sindh.

THE SINDH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008

SINDH ACT NO: I OF 2008

(First published after having received the assent of the Governor of Sindh in the Gazette of Sindh

(Extra-Ordinary) dated 30th April, 2008.)

AN ACT

to further amend the Sindh Public Service Commission Act, 1989.

Preamble WHEREAS it is expedient to further amend the Sindh Public Service

Commission Act, 1989, in the manner hereinafter appearing;

It is hereby enacted as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.     (1)  This  Act  may  be  called  the  Sindh  Public  Service  Commission

(Amendment) Act, 2008.

(2). It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of section 2 of Sindh Act No. XI of

1989.   In the Sindh Public Service Commission Act, 1989, hereinafter called the said Act, Clause (bb) of Section 2, shall be omitted.

3.Amendment of Sindh Act No. XI of 1989. Through out the Act, for the word “Governor”, the word “Government”

shall be substituted.

4.   Amendment of Section 4 of Sindh Act No. XI of 1989 In the said Act, for sub-section (2) of Section 4, the following shall be substituted:-

“(2) The Chairman or a Member shall hold office for a single non- renewable term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office; provided that the Government may in its discretion reconstitute the Commission and reappoint the Chairman and the Members within a period of thirty days from the date on which this sub-section comes into force.”
