POLITICAL PARTIES RULES, 1986

(Amendments)

S.R.O. 624(1)/87, dated 30‑7‑1987.‑‑In exercise of the powers

conferred by section 12 of the Political Parties Act, 1962 (III of 1962), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following amendments shall be made in the Political Parties Rules, 1986, namely:‑‑

In the aforesaid Rules.‑‑

(1) in rule 4,

(a) in sub‑rule (1), for the words "six weeks" the words

(b) after sub‑rule (1) amended as aforesaid, the following new sub‑rule shall be inserted, namely:‑‑

"(1‑a) A political party shall furnish to the officer or authority authorised by the Election Commission such documents, information and clarification relating to the statements of finances and accounts submitted to it or him by the political party, as such officer or authority may require for the purposes of audit.";

(2) in rule 6, for the word "fifteen" the Word "forty five" shall be substituted; and

in the Form, after the column "Name of the Bankers", a new column, namely, "Details of assets /liabilities indicating nature, quantum and cost" shall be inserted.
