PUNJAB ORDINANCES TEMPORARY ENACTMENT ACT, 1973
An Act to provide for the temporary enactment of the provisions
of certain Ordinances promulgated by the Governor
of the Punjab

Punjab Ordinances Temporary Enactment Bill, 1973 having been passed by the
Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on the 28th day of February 1973 and assented
to by the Governor of the Punjab on the 28th day of February 1973, is hereby
published as an Act of the Provincial Legislature of the Punjab.
Preamble.----Whereas it is expedient to provide for the
temporary enactment of the provisions of certain Ordinances promulgated by the
Governor of the Punjab;
It is hereby enacted as
follows:--
1. Short title, extent
and commencement.---(1) This Act may be
called the Punjab Ordinances Temporary Enactment Act, 1973.
(2) It shall come into
force on and from the day the Ordinances specified in the Schedule to the Act
(hereinafter referred to as the said Ordinances) cease to operate in accordance
with the provisions of clause (2) (a) of Article 135 of the Interim
Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
(3) It shall extend to
the whole of the Province of the Punjab.
2. Temporary enactment
of the provisions of certain Punjab Ordinances.---The provisions of each of the said Ordinances
shall have effect as if they had been enacted in an Act of the Provincial
Legislature and shall continue in operation for a period of six months from the
date on which the said Ordinances by virtue of clause (2)(a) of Article 135 of the
Interim Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan cease to operate.
3. Validity of actions
taken.----All orders and
notifications issued, all directions given, all actions taken and all
proceedings commenced under any of the provisions of the said Ordinances shall
be deemed to have been validly issued, given, taken and commenced and shall
continue In force and shall have effect until superseded or modified by the
Provincial Governments or competent authority.
