THE SINDH REGULARIZATION OF DOCTORS APPOINTED ON CONTRACT BASIS ACT 2003 SINDH ACT NO.V OF 2003 (First published after having received the assent of Governor of Sindh in the Gazette of Sindh (Extra-Ordinary) dated 20th December, 2003). AN ACT to provide for regularization of the services of certain doctors appointed on contract. Preamble WHEREAS it is expedient in the public interest to provide for regularization of services of certain doctors appointed on contract basis, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Sindh Regularization of Doctors appointed on contract basis Act, 2003. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Definitions In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires. (a) “Act” means the Sindh Civil Servants Act, 1973; (b) “civil servant” has the same meaning as assigned to it in the Act; (c) “appointment of a Doctor on contract” means appointment of a duly qualified Doctor made on contract basis; (d) “Government” means the Government of Sindh; and (e) “post” means a post sanctioned by Government connected with the affairs of the Province but does not include the post earmarked for a project and co-exist with such project. Regularization of services of certain doctors. Notwithstanding any thing contained in the Act or rules thereunder, or in any decree, order or judgment of a court, but subject to other provisions of this Act, a doctor appointed on contract basis and holding such appointment for more than a year and is in employment on the commencement of this Act, shall be deemed to have been validly appointed to that post as a civil servant on regular basis with effect from the date of commencement of this Act. Provided that the services of a doctor, who does not possess the qualifications prescribed for the post, shall not be regularized. 2. Definitions

       In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires.

Regularization of services of certain doctors.
