NO.PAS/Legis-B-03/2008- The Sindh Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill, 2008 having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on 30th  June, 2008 and assented to by the Governor of Sindh on 25th  August, 2008 is hereby published as an Act of the Legislature of Sindh.

                        THE SINDH LAND REVENUE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008

 SINDH ACT NO: III OF 2008

(First published after having received the assent of the Governor of Sindh in the Gazette of Sindh (Extra-Ordinary) dated 1st September, 2008.)

 AN ACT

 to amend the Sind Land Revenue Act, 1967.

Preamble.   WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Sind Land

Revenue Act, 1967, in the manner hereinafter appearing;

It is hereby enacted as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.          (1)  This  Act  may  be  called  the  Sindh  Land  Revenue

(Amendment) Act, 2008.

(2) It shall come into force atonce.

2.Insertion of section 6-A in W.P Act No.XII of 1967.                 In the Sind Land Revenue Act, 1967, after section 6, the following new section shall be inserted:-

“6-A. Renaming of a District or a Taluka.- Notwithstanding  the   provisions   contained   in sections 5 and 6, if the Provincial Assembly has passed or passes a resolution to the effect that a District or a Taluka may be re-named, the Government shall, by a notification, re-name such District or Taluka, as the case may be.”.
